Belinda Strange
My Professional Background
I joined the Family Law department at Attwaters Jameson Hill in September 2019, having previously worked in Hertfordshire and London. With over 20 years of experience in all aspects of family law, I specialise in working with clients going through a divorce or separation and helping them overcome the challenges they face. Whether married or not, I deal with clients’ financial concerns and/or disputes about their children. I enjoy helping clients find practical solutions for their problems, which is key to enabling them to manage challenging practical and emotional issues.
As every family is unique, this often requires finding creative solutions to overcome conflict. I am a keen supporter of Alternate Dispute Resolution ( ADR), whether that be mediation, arbitration or a collaborative approach, as it is fundamental to try and resolve disputes with the minimum of conflict when possible. Should that not be appropriate, then a robust approach can be pursued through the courts and a firm stance adopted, in order to achieve the best possible outcome for my clients. With vast experience in financial claims at court, often involving private and public companies, family businesses, partnerships and international issues, I have a range of expert accountants, actuaries and surveyors ready to assist and advise on all aspects of financial matters arising from a relationship breakdown.
I have also gained a wealth of experience in helping couples at the beginning of their journeys together, and can prepare Living Together or Pre-Nuptial agreements in order to protect family wealth in the unlikely event of separation or divorce.
I studied Law at the Manchester Metropolitan University and completed my Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in London before initially working in general high street practice. This provided a valuable insight into all areas of general practice, which I still find helpful today.
I have worked with a diverse range of clients, from entrepreneurs and businesspeople to artists and musicians. I love learning from them about their industries and the challenges they face, which helps in securing a favourable outcome.

About me
I was raised in North London and my childhood dream job was to be an astronaut, which has resulted in a love of science fiction as a grown up. I am married to a stage lighting designer and have a son, a half-tailed cat and an ancient goldfish.
When not working, my spare time is spent managing my son’s fencing arrangements or out socialising with friends. My favourite drinks would have to be either a Pimm’s, enjoyed wandering around the Chelsea Flower Show, or a cold beer on a sunny Cornwall beach with fresh fish on the BBQ.
I hate heights, wasps and having to go camping. If I was ever on a deserted island then my ideal companion would be my husband as he knows how to fish.
