Taste of jail for partner Peter Westbrook
An Attwaters Jameson Hill partner will spend a day locked up in solitary confinement waiting for kind-hearted or simply gullible citizens to pledge enough bail money to prevent his incarceration turning into a life sentence.
An Attwaters Jameson Hill partner will spend a day locked up in solitary confinement waiting for kind-hearted or simply gullible citizens to pledge enough bail money to prevent his incarceration turning into a life sentence.
Peter Westbrook, a partner specialising in residential property at our Harlow offices, has skilfully negotiated the custodial sentence under a ‘jail and bail’ plea-bargain deal. His cell for the day will be his own office and his smart business suit will be discarded in favour of a convict’s overalls, just in case he attempts a desperate break for freedom through the town’s busy Harvey Centre.
“Instead of the usual hard labour of legal work,” says Peter, “I shall be on my mobile all day playing the con-man and trying to extort hard-earned cash from colleagues, contacts and shamefully even my most valued clients. If some of them fall for the scam, I shall raise a useful amount in bail money, all of which will go to our firm’s worthy nominated charity of the year, Isabel Hospice. No way will I get out of jail free, so please start making those generous bail payments as soon as you can, through http://www.justgiving.com/PeterBailMoney ”.
