Lesley-Ann Mayhew becomes Full Accredited member of Solicitors for the Elderly
We are proud to announce that our Head of Court of Protection, Lesley-Ann Mayhew, is now a Full Accredited Member of Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE). SFE is a community of lawyers who specialise in advising older and vulnerable people and their families and carers.
To become an Associate Member of the SFE, a lawyer must be fully qualified and must also pass the Older Client Care in Practice Award, an independently accredited qualification that teaches solicitors the soft skills involved in assisting and caring for older and vulnerable clients. And, because Lesley-Ann spends well over 50% of her time on older/vulnerable client matters, she was also eligible to upgrade to the SFE’s Full Accredited membership – the highest level on offer.
The benefits of instructing an SFE solicitor
As a Full Accredited member, Lesley-Ann follows a strict code of practice that has respect and dignity at its heart. She has an in-depth understanding of the issues that affect older and vulnerable clients and will always ensure her clients’ voices are heard and their wishes respected.
SFE lawyers like Lesley-Ann have dedicated much of their career to working with older and vulnerable clients and genuinely care about their welfare. They go above and beyond to provide support tailored to each person’s needs and individual circumstances. And, when you instruct Lesley-Ann, you don’t simply get a single solicitor. You have access to a community of over 1,500 specialist lawyers, all collaborating to offer their and each other’s clients the very best legal support.
What Full Accreditation means to Lesley-Ann
Lesley-Ann is no stranger to awards and recognition for her Court of Protection work. In this year’s Legal 500 rankings, she was named a ‘Leading Individual’ – a title denoting standout practitioners in their field.
But she particularly hopes that her Full Accredited status with SFE will give older and vulnerable clients crucial reassurance and peace of mind that she truly has their best interests at heart.
She said: “Today, so many older and vulnerable people have lost trust in the professionals who should have their best interests at heart. My Full Accreditation with SFE will, I hope, restore some of that lost trust and reassure clients, their families and carers that Attwaters Jameson Hill is a safe pair of hands for their matter.
“I have spent years working with older and vulnerable people, and I wholeheartedly believe that they are just as deserving of high-quality legal advice that is tailored to their needs, and of being treated with dignity and respect, as any other client. It’s why I do what I do.”
