Celebrating 10 years of Attwaters Jameson Hill

This July, we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the merger between the Essex-based law firm Attwaters and Hertfordshire’s Jameson & Hill.

The merger saw Attwaters’ existing Loughton and Harlow offices join forces with Jameson & Hill’s offices in Hertford and Ware, forming a larger firm of 14 partners, 85 staff.

Attwaters was originally established in London in 1901 under the name of Attwater & Liell, with its offices in Loughton and Harlow opening their doors in the 1930s and 1950s, respectively. Meanwhile, Jameson & Hill’s Hertford and Ware offices both opened for business in 1982. Together, the two firms had over 140 years in legal practice when the merger took place.

Under its new name of Attwaters Jameson Hill, the firm went on to earn an excellent reputation for its unique combination of traditional high standards and a forward-thinking, progressive attitude. In 2019, Attwaters Jameson Hill merged with respected London practice Stafford Young Jones, bringing even more highly qualified solicitors onto the team and providing the firm’s clients with access to SYJ’s prestigious City office.
