In October, we received an ‘Employer of the Year’ award from Hertford Regional College in response to our active support for an apprenticeship initiative that provides valuable workplace opportunities for students. Our firm was thanked warmly for its ‘outstanding support of the apprenticeship programme during the last academic year’.
We initially took on four Business Administration Apprentices through HRC, for paid 12-month contracts in a variety of roles at our offices.
That first intake was so successful for the young people and for the firm that the scheme has since been extended and further apprentices have been placed with us.
In November, at the Hertfordshire Business Awards, we were delighted to win the ‘Supporting Young People’ category. This acknowledged both our apprenticeship scheme and our record of sponsoring young staff through their legal executive and solicitor qualifications.
With youth unemployment at disturbing levels, creating a variety of legal profession and business administration openings with prospects for young people has become a vital form of community involvement for our firm.
