Catherine Dean
My Professional Background
My career in HR started in 1997, when I joined a Software Company in the City of London at the height of the ‘dot com’ era. The company went through a period of rapid growth and change and within four years we went from having 30 employees, going through five acquisitions floating on the stock market, to having a headcount of 2,000 with offices worldwide.
I was extremely fortunate to have joined the company at start-up stage, which enabled me to gain fantastic exposure to the world of business and in particular Human Resources. It was here that I was supported and encouraged to study for my CIPD qualification, which I did via distance learning whilst working full-time.
I joined Attwater & Liell (as we were known back then) as HR Manager in 2001, after having my first child and deciding that I no longer wanted the daily commute into the City. I look after the firm’s greatest assets; its people, across our five offices in London, Hertford, Ware, Harlow and Loughton, with responsibility for the HR function of the business.
I am a true people person which is why a career in HR suits me so well. The team we have here at Attwaters Jameson Hill have become my second family; everyone is so friendly and supportive.
