Joanne Westbrook
My Professional Background
I was fortunate to obtain a training contract with Attwaters in 1993 and qualified as a solicitor in 1995 before becoming a Partner in 2001. Since qualifying, I have spent most of my career working in the Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence department acting for Claimants who have suffered serious injury.
I appreciate how daunting it can be to approach a solicitor and that the clinical negligence cases can be of a sensitive nature. The legal and medical concepts can be complex. I pride myself on putting my clients at ease, being approachable, friendly, and explaining the concepts clearly.
I have experience dealing with a wide variety of claims, including:
- Misdiagnosis and delayed diagnosis
- Surgical accidents
- Cosmetic surgery claims
- Fatal accidents.
I have sadly acted for many clients who have experienced errors or delays which have resulted in unnecessary suffering and avoidable deaths. I appreciate no amount of money can compensate for the loss a loved one. We all value good health; when this is compromised, there is a need for compensation to support adapted living. There is also a desire to find out why mistakes were made and what can be done to prevent the same thing happening to someone else.
I like to assist my clients to achieve financial compensation and get the answers they deserve.

About me
My husband Peter is also a Solicitor and Partner with Attwaters Jameson Hill, heading up the firm’s Residential Conveyancing department.
I love food but I am a terrible cook, and my culinary attempts are legendary amongst family and friends. Luckily, I have a good sense of humour and a variety of local restaurants!
I am not a natural athlete and prefer to relax by browsing glossy magazines for fashion tips and celebrity gossip. I enjoy swimming and regularly endure boot camp keep-fit classes.
